These terms govern your use of Vault For Us, a product of Aevoris Cloud, operated by AEVORIS CLOUD LLP ("we", "us"). By creating a family vault you agree to them.
Accepting these terms
You accept these terms by ticking the explicit checkbox shown when you create a family vault; we record the version of the terms you saw and the time you accepted them. When we make a material update, we notify the billing email on file, and continuing to use the service after that notice means you accept the updated terms.
What the service is
Vault For Us is a private, end-to-end encrypted vault for a family's documents, saved logins, and related records. Your documents and everything in Passwords (where your family keeps its bank and website logins) are encrypted on your own device before they ever reach our servers. We do not hold the keys and cannot read that content. See Security for exactly what we can and can't see.
Notifications. The service can tell you when something happens in your family's account. Notifications are always kept in the app; you may additionally choose to receive them on your devices, by email, or on WhatsApp. WhatsApp is optional and off until you add a mobile number and confirm it with a code sent to that number; that code confirms the number only and is never a way to sign in or to recover an account. You can change which channels, apps and kinds of notification reach you, set quiet hours, or remove your number at any time from the You tab. Messages delivered over WhatsApp are carried by Meta Platforms under their own terms — see Privacy for what they receive. Delivery over any of these channels depends on services outside our control, so we cannot guarantee that a particular notification arrives or arrives promptly; the record in the app is authoritative.
Accounts and roles
- You must be at least 18 years old to create a family vault or to sign in to one. Children can be part of a family as profiles, never as logins: a child's profile has no passkey and cannot sign in. It is created and managed by an adult account holder, who, as the child's parent or guardian, consents to the limited data held about them (see the Privacy Policy, "Children").
- A family vault has one or more members. Every member who signs in is an adult with their own passkey. The member who creates the account is its first primary member; a family can have more than one primary member, and a primary member can promote or demote other members. A family can never be left with zero primary members.
- We cannot reset a lost password or recover vault access on your behalf. That's a direct consequence of end-to-end encryption, not a missing feature. Your Recovery Kit, generated at signup, is the only way back in if every device is lost. Keep it somewhere safe.
- You're responsible for keeping your devices and Recovery Kit secure.
Plans, billing, and renewal
- Signing up means selecting a plan (Pearl, Sapphire, or Diamond) and a billing term, and linking a payment method through our hosted payment provider, before your account opens. See Pricing for current prices. Monthly and yearly terms start with a 7-day free trial, once per family: you're not charged until the trial ends, and cancelling any time during the trial from You → Billing means you pay nothing. One-time 2 and 3-year terms have no trial — they're charged at checkout.
- If you don't cancel a trial, your payment method is charged automatically when the trial ends, for the plan and billing term (monthly or yearly) you selected.
- Monthly and yearly plans renew automatically until cancelled. Before every automatic renewal we email the billing address on file a reminder with the plan and the renewal date. Multi-year terms are a single payment, charged upfront in full for the whole term, with no auto-renewal ever: they lapse on their own at the end of the term, with a reminder beforehand.
- Checkout is handled entirely by Razorpay (India) or Paddle (everywhere else), on a separate checkout page outside the app. We never see or store your card details, and no checkout script from either provider ever loads inside Vault For Us.
- Outside India, Paddle is the merchant of record: Paddle sells you the subscription, so your purchase is a contract with Paddle under Paddle's Buyer Terms, and Paddle collects the payment and any VAT or sales tax and issues your invoice. These terms govern your use of the service itself. In India, we sell to you directly and Razorpay only processes the payment.
- If you subscribe inside our iOS or Android app, the App Store or Google Play handles the purchase, any free trial, renewal, cancellation and refunds under their own terms, and you cancel in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. The rest of these terms apply as written.
- You can cancel a recurring subscription at any time from You → Billing; you keep full access through the period you've already paid for.
- If a renewal or trial-conversion charge fails, you get a short grace period with full access to update your payment method or retry from You → Billing, where a banner shows what needs fixing. If the grace period lapses without a successful payment, the account becomes read-only: you can still view and export everything already stored, but new changes are paused until billing is resolved.
- Cancelling, or simply having a payment fail, is never destructive by itself: reading or exporting what you've already stored always keeps working, including while an account is read-only for unresolved billing. You can also always permanently close your account, at any time, regardless of billing status. Data access/portability and account erasure are your rights independent of whether a bill is paid.
- If a failed payment is never fixed and the account is never closed, we'll warn the billing email on file roughly 15 days ahead, then permanently delete the account's data 90 days after it first became read-only for non-payment; renewing before then cancels the deletion. Billing/transaction history (receipts, charge records) is kept independently for accounting/tax purposes and isn't affected by this or by account closure. See Refunds for the full policy.
Your country and your price
The country you choose at signup must be the one you actually live in. It sets your currency and your price, and it decides which country's consumer-protection law covers you, so it isn't a preference — it's a statement of fact, and it's fixed afterwards.
Travelling, living abroad for a while, or having family members in other countries is all completely fine and changes nothing. If you move permanently, or you picked the wrong country by mistake, write to us and we'll correct it; a correction may change your price from your next renewal, and we won't bill you retrospectively for the difference. If a country was chosen deliberately to obtain a cheaper price, we may move the account to the correct price at renewal, or ask you to correct it and suspend new changes until you do. We'd only close an account outright for sustained, deliberate misuse, and we'd tell you why first.
Whatever happens with billing, two things never change: you can always export everything you've stored, and you can always close your account yourself.
Sanctions
By creating a family vault you confirm that you are not located in, or ordinarily resident in, a country or region subject to comprehensive sanctions, and that you are not named on, or owned or controlled by someone named on, a sanctions list kept by India, the United Nations, the United States, the United Kingdom or the European Union. We may refuse or close an account where that isn't true. If we close one, you can still export everything stored in it first, unless the law forbids us from allowing it.
Acceptable use
The service is for storing your own family's records. Don't use it to store or share unlawful content, attempt to break its security, or interfere with other families' use of the service.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend an account that violates these terms or abuses the service (for example, automated signup abuse). Because we cannot read your locked content (Tier-1), any review we do is limited to account-level details, never the contents of your vault.
Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is". We work to keep it available and your data durable (backups, integrity checks), but we don't guarantee uninterrupted availability. Nothing here limits liability where the law doesn't allow it.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim arising out of the service is capped at the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. As with the disclaimer above, nothing here limits liability where the law doesn't allow it, and your statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected.
Severability
If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands, and the unenforceable part is read as narrowly as needed to make it enforceable.
Assignment
We may assign these terms if the business changes hands (a merger, acquisition, or sale of the service); whoever takes over remains bound by them, including everything this page and the Privacy Policy promise about your data. You may not assign your side without our consent.
Entire agreement
These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, are the whole agreement between us about the service, and replace any earlier discussions or representations.
Force majeure
Neither of us is liable for delay or failure caused by events genuinely outside our control: natural disasters, war, large-scale internet or power failures, or government action. This doesn't excuse paying for service already delivered, and it doesn't weaken anything we've said about your right to access and export your data.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service changes. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date and notified to the billing email on file; continued use after a change means you accept the update.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the courts of Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, without prejudice to any statutory rights you have as a consumer in your own jurisdiction.
