Delete your Vault For Us account

You can delete your Vault For Us family account yourself, from the app, at any time. A primary member of the family does it, and it deletes the whole family account.

Steps in the Android app

  1. Open Vault For Us and sign in as a primary member of your family.
  2. Go to You → Devices & security → Close account.
  3. Tap Close family account, type your family's name to confirm, and confirm with your fingerprint, face or screen lock.

Steps on iPhone or iPad

  1. Open Vault For Us and sign in as a primary member of your family.
  2. Go to You → About → Close family account.
  3. Tap Close family account, type your family's name to confirm, and confirm with your fingerprint, face or device passcode.

Steps on the web

  1. Sign in at vaultforus.com as a primary member of your family.
  2. Go to You → Billing and open Close family account.
  3. Choose Close family account, type your family's name, and confirm with your fingerprint, face or device PIN.

Only a primary member can close the family account. If you are not one, ask a primary member in your family, or write to us as described below.

What happens next

  • Your family account becomes read-only straight away, and everyone in the family is told. Everything is still there during this time.
  • For 7 days any primary member can undo the closure from the same screen.
  • After 7 days your encrypted files and all of your family's data are permanently deleted.
  • A plan paid through Google Play, Razorpay or Paddle is cancelled for you. A plan paid through the App Store has to be cancelled in Apple's subscription settings, or Apple will keep charging you.

What is kept, and for how long

None of your documents, passwords or other end-to-end encrypted content is kept. A narrow set of records survives closure:

  • Billing ledger entries and payment events, kept for eight years, the period Indian tax and accounting law requires.
  • The log of service emails we sent (recipient, type and time).
  • Records of any formal data request you made.
  • The account-level audit trail.
  • The billing email you signed up with, kept unused for 180 days after closure because India's IT Rules 2021 require it, and then erased.

Our disaster-recovery backups cannot be changed or deleted for 90 days, so a backup taken before you closed your account still holds your data until it ages out after those 90 days. It is never restored to live systems, and your encrypted content inside it stays encrypted with keys we do not hold.

Asking us to delete it instead

You can also ask us to delete your account by email at support@aevoriscloud.com. We acknowledge a request within 24 hours and aim to resolve it within 15 days.
